Venipuncture and laboratory test as ordered by a physician within the capability of the facility.
*Collects, prepares and protects specimens.
*Processes specimens for sending to appropriate lab.
*Performs calibrations and maintains reference standards to ensure accurate results for test.
*Responds to emergencies and/or critical incidents.
*Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding new laboratory services and procedures.
*Maintains proper records and documentation of tests and completes required reports.
*Maintains clean and orderly working environment consistent with Universal Precautions and other applicable infection control standards.
*Adheres to safety and security policies and procedures.
*Completion of an accredited program in phlebotomy technology.
*Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience.
*Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance. Current CPR Certification.
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in an office environment. Specific vision avbilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Frequently required to sit, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, and talk/hear.

Correctional officers provide security; however, some degree of risk of verbal and physical assault from inmates exists. As in any healthcare setting, employees may be exposed to communicable and/or infectious diseases. Inside work with periodic traveling (inter and intra state) to other locations with exposure to weather, temperature extremes and hazardous road conditions.
